Re: Verteilerkasten

Hi Fabian. There is no distribution box that I’m aware of. The thick red cable goes from the batteries to the red Kill switch and from there to the fuses behind the seat and from there to the individual circuits. When I’ve needed to add something I’ve tapped into an appropriate fuses circuit. Why do...

Re: Maxxfan installed

I too had a solar panel immediately in front of the bathroom Heki with no room to spare between the edge of the Heki and the panel edge. So I had the same concern about the Maxxfan. It turned out not to be an issue. So I would not expect it to be a problem for you ) I have 2x100w panel’s between the...

Re: Replacement Shunt?

I guess that even the Westfalia shunt is not designed to act as a fuse. However, the specification of the shunt is 100A/200mV so that the shunt is actually designed to Route at least up to 100A. The problems discussed in the linked thread might be minor for you as you already have a smart shunt for...

Re: Replacement Shunt?

Well, then maybe just replace the shunt - as a cheap part - and report the update. Else go for the objective analysis from the alternator downstream to the batteries, as already suggested, and repair based on the results of that analysis: it might not be the shunt. Thanks. However I can’t find anyw...

Replacement Shunt?

I am still trying to sort out the intermittent complete power loss from the leisure batteries - power only resumes if I start the engine or hook up to 240v. Then all ok until the next loss when all readings disappear from the Central Electric Display. I suspect it is shunt related. I could just bypa...

Re: Central Electric panel showing 15.1v or zero

I am sorry, you are right! The batteries actually are not connected to ground of the central unit directly but to common ground of the vehicle/generator. There is the shunt in between the batteries. So this fits very well. In my opinion it should not be an issue to bypass the shunt by simply changi...

Re: Central Electric panel showing 15.1v or zero

Thanks Matthias. The set up ( which has worked since Spring last year) is 2 x 100ah Lifepo4 ; a Victron Multiplus charger/ inverter and 2 x 100w solar panels wired via a Victron mppt controller. Also a Votronic booster. Both the Booster or the Multiplus can put upto 40a i tothe batteries. The negati...

Central Electric panel showing 15.1v or zero

I posted a couple of days ago about fridge losing power. Yesterday everything lost power- nothing worked- and the central electric screen was blank. Multimeter on lithium batteries showed 13.7v and sufficient amps.Victron Shunt showing the same. So started the engine and central electric panel showe...

Re: Fridge switches off.

Thanks for the link - that’s a comfort. I’m now wondering whether the fridge switching off is an electrical fault. I’m starting a seperate thread on that. Adrian

Fridge switches off.

Greetings from the U.K. We are on a trip at the moment and on a couple of occasions the fridge has switched itself off this week. The symbol disappears from the central control panel. Repressing the fridge and on symbols on the central control panel switches it back on again. There is plenty of powe...

Tap now replaced - it was split. Replaced with 33mm diameter Reich Karma shower tap. Dismantling/ removing the sink unit and replacing took about 5 hours. Straightforward enough with 2 brackets in top of cupboard and 2 underneathbut glad I didn’t attempt it during our trip. A tip - It is easier to d...

Re: Bathroom tap- yellow furniture

Now back from our Scottish trip and need to remove the bathroom sink while awaiting delivery of a new shower tap. How do I do that? There seems to be one coachbolt from the wardrobe that goes into the top of the bathroom cabinet and 2 angle brackets underneath the cabinet. See photos. Obviously need...

Adrian, wart Ihr auch schon beim last house of Scotland - John o Groats? Sehr zu empfehlen, allerdings waren wir da schon vor 30 Jahren, hoffe es ist noch genau so schön dort. Liebe Grüße, Thomas Yes Thomas, we went there. Travelled from Inverness up the East coast to John O Groats , then all along...
