The best way to get this is to obtain a copy of the Mercedes WIS/EPC/ASRA software. This has all of the diagrams, repair guides and service manuals for the base Sprinter AND the Westfalia conversion. Ebay is your friend here as it usually comes as a VM image. You can also get the various spare parts...

I managed to order a rail from Mercedes after a few weeks. According to their parts catalog I got the last one from Germany so it seems that the new batch sold out fast. I will keep it in the box until the existing one breaks...

The Froli springs are only on the top bed, not the folding bench, so this is confusing..?

If you really want to order them from Mercedes, the part number is Q900001504108. I imagine it would be much cheaper to buy elsewhere.

Is there an alternative to the 'Genuine' part from Mercedes? Mine is not broken (yet) but I am sure it may only be a matter of time. And ordering from Mercedes in UK is a difficult activity as they are not really aware of the James Cook in their parts catalogue.

I had to use Google Translate and it worked fine. The harder part was actually taking the frame apart and making the tension correct. Mine now has almost too much tension and will fly back if you look it the wrong way

The tank is just over 1/2 full now, but the van is parked on an angle with the rest lower than the front. If this is the problem I would be surprised but it is worth looking at as a fix.
