Can anyone tell me how I can see if my batteries are charging when I plug in my car to a power outlet? Whenever I plug it in, I dont see a light go on anywhere in the camper. (JC 1994.)

If all the lights are off, do you have batteries at all?

yep, I have two 62amp batteries and a 100W pannel. However it is not clear to me if it runs on the poweroutlet or not.

Hello Visser
I have just bought a JC in the netherlands.
I got a handbook (no wiring diagrams) in dutch language with the camper (the main part is translated from the original westfalia handbook in Addition there is a dutch handbook of the parking heater from Webasto). I don´t know if this will is interesting for you (actual i cannot scan the pages - i must contact a friend)

The outside powerconnector is connected to a charger (12V trafo beside the accus) to load the two accumulators (not the starter accu).
Depending on the charger type it contains a control lamp (to see if 230V is supplied via external connector e.g. on the Camping area).
If you won´t see a indicator on the charger i suggest to check if a fuse is blown inside the loader.
My JC got two years ago a new charger the old one was defective (underdimensioned).

The load Status of the accus is indicated on the control Panel above the gas stove (or check it directly on the accus with a Voltmeter).

On my JC 1993 a solar controller is also connected to the accus with two indicator lights (sun power and accu load indicator - to show if solar power is supplied to the accus).

You can also write a pn message ...op nederlands. Hier heb ik op engels geschreven omdat de anderen het beter verstaan .
