Heater problem

Beitrag von Andrewjw » 09.09.2011 12:20

Hello...I'm sorry for posting in English but my German is very poor.

I have a 2003 James Cook [type 282032] ...there is a problem with the Airtronic D4S heater that is fitted. My local Eberspacher dealer has found that the unit needs a new ICU [Mercedes part no 001 446 04 29] but I am unable to obtain this in England.

Does anyone know where I can obtain this part?

Many thanks...Andrew

Hi Andrew,

as far as I know your local dealer should be able to get the ICU for your Airtronic as there aren't any specific Mercedes-Parts used.

The controll unit (the 'thing' where you enable or disable Airtronic/fridge/etc.) is developed by Westfalia but they are using the interface provided by Eberspächer.

Maybe you take a look for another dealer and try again?

The link below provides you a list of EP-dealers within UK.

BTW, several months ago I read a note @ espar.com (somewhere in a PDF-File) that actually there are more ICU's 'changed' than actually neccessary, so the idea to find another dealer for checking the actual diagnostic wouldn't be that wrong (as long as you don't tell him the ICU has crashed).
