Servus Jens,

ja stimmt, soweit habe ich noch garnicht gedacht. Bliebe zu diskutieren, ob das was ausmacht.
Die Fahrräder auf dem Heckträger habe ich ja schon abgesenkt.
Sowie der James aus der Halle kommt schaue ich mir das noch genauer an. Soll ja endlich wärmer werden.

Solution: Rear spoiler or wing.

The Maxx version with open/close rain cover does extend a bit over the rear edge of the Westfalia fiberglass roof.

If you had a full width rear spoiler at the rear top
edge, the closed lid would look like a bump on the rear spoiler.

There are various aftermarket rear spoilers for the Sprinter vans, but the Westfalia roof width may be narrower.

Der Rahmen passt bestimmt rein aber wenn die Haube hinten übersteht sieht das bestimmt komisch aus. Geht Dein Fenster denn ganz auf wenn die Antenne flach liegt?

Ein JC-Treffen wäre schon schön.

Ob das so komisch aussieht, wenn der Maxx Fan zu ist, ich weiss nicht?
Eigentlich doch fast egal - oder?
Einen Spoiler werde ich deswegen aber nicht nachrüsten, danke Old West.

I’ve now ordered the maxxfan deluxe and shade for the bathroom. There will be an overhang but when closed I don’t think it will look too weird- there are a couple of photos of one installed on a Cook in the US Sprinter Westfalia forum. Given all the other clutter around the rear of the Cook- bikes, camera, boiler exhaust, aerial etc- I’m not sure it matters particularly! My thinking is that the overhang is a small negative compared to the positives of the maxxfan over the fantastic fan- especially that it can be operated when raining/damp and that it can operate with its shade fully closed therefore giving complete blackout at night if the bathroom door is open a crack. Anyway, will let you know how I get on. They are much in demand so if it doesn’t work out then I can sell it and put the Heki back in. The biggest challenge is working safely on the roof of the Cook!

Hi Thomas. If course I will do a write up with photos - if someone doesn’t beat me to it first! There is a member of the US JC forum who is on the verge of installing a maxxfan any day now. If the weather is good next week then I will have a go then as the kit has arrived. At the moment I am generally fettling the Cook in anticipation of partial Lockdown end enabling us to camp in U.K. from 12 April. It’s been a long time since this current Lockdown started after Christmas.

Great Khn. You will win the race easily as I’m not starting until next week -if good weather. What Sika are you going to use to bed down the flange on the roof before screwing down?I wondered about Sika 522 or some other non setting Sika?

I see that Sika 522 is an adhesive as well as a sealer. When I reset the bathroom Heki a few years ago because it was leaking, I used Sika 710 which is a non setting Butyl. I wonder if that is the correct product to use given that the flange will be screwed down ? Any views? Adrian

Khn, I’ve had a look at the JC roof today. It has an L shaped profile immediately at the front of the Heki. You can just see the corner of it in the photo of Thomas’s roof above. Can anyone tell me if it is part of the Heki or part of the roof? If the latter it is an issue I will have to deal with as it will foul the flange of the maxxfan roof surround

Beim Hochdach des JC NCV3 und des SH mit Classic-Hochdach ist aber hinter dem Dachausschnitt eine Sicke hinter dem planen Teil, somit muss ich einen ca. 8 mm dicken Rand rund um die Haube haben. Mir schwebt vor, das mit vier 8 mm Kunststoffklötzen vorab zu nivellieren, und dann mit Sika? Dekanin? o.ä. in einer 8 mm dicken Wulst einzukleben, danach die Klötze zu entfernen und den Rest zu verkleben / abzudichten.

Wir hatten hier im Forum einmal einen Sika-Expterten, gibt es den noch?

Hallo Adrian,

die Aufkantung, die Du meinst ist Teil vom Heki, genauso wie hinten, da ist sie aber schräg ausgeführt.

Bei mir liegt genau vor der Aufkantung noch der Kabelkanal für das Antennenkabel
Bitte nicht an dem Dreck stören, ich komm da halt nicht zum Putzen hoch

Ich habe mich heute mal mit der Stromversorgung beschäftigt.
Ist gar nicht so einfach da in´s Bad Dauerplus hinzulegen, die Lampe ist ja leider von vor dem Bad geschaltet...

Die Frage in die Runde:

Wenn man den Spiegel abmontiert,
ist da dahinter eine durchgehende Holzwand oder ist im oberen Teil eine Öffnung (evtl. für den Boiler)
Dann könnte ich ja das Kabel da durchführen.
