Lower Bed foam shifted

Beitrag von lunatic » 25.10.2023 07:38

We had our seats and lower bed cleaned before storage. It seems that vigorous cleaning has displaced the foam on the lower bed (see images). The top left of bed behind lower seat is now floppy with the metal frame outline visible through the fabric.

Does anyone have any idea how to remove the fabric off this section, so that we can investigate and reposition the foam both sides of the metal frame?

Photos attached of the top of our lower bed and 2 parts images from Mercedes.

Thank you, Ian

Hi Ian!
We had our seat-covers replaced when we bought the van in 2009, since they were stained. The new ones are attached to a metal-beam with velcro. You should be able to see it when you tilt the bench forward. Since our seat looks very similar, now with the foam shifted, I will have to go through the same procedure, soon.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the reply!

It sounds like the fix is no big deal to reattach the velcro. However, how do you remove the covers to get at the rails and the velcro?

Ian
