Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit dem Alpine X800D-S906?

Beitrag von Mattes » 19.06.2019 09:20

Hallo James Cook Gemeinde.

Mattes

Hi,

The Alpine unit should have a steering wheel control interface connection, and you then need to buy a suitable CAN BUS adapter to connect to the JC and the Alpine unit. Any reputable car audio company will be able to supply this and will know exactly what you need. Connects2 makes an adaptor from 2006-2016 Sprinters.

Hope that helps...

Hey fleep,

Indeed, that helps a lot. I was uncertain about an advise, that the Alpine works only above 2008 models.
Unfortunately I was unable to double check or even found an other source that’s confirm the issue.
So I can go a head.
Cheers

Hallo Mattes
Do you still need answer to this question?
I build this Alpine system in our 2007 JC and I am very happy with it!
Connection with original steering wheel works perfect!

Hey Hans,
trust you and yours are doing well & healthy?

Sorry for the late reply, I have had unfortunately a technical shutdown resp. was offline for a while.
So fare the Alpine is doing fine and I really love it.

Only one tiny issue I still have is handling via the steering wheel buttons.
I can skip title if I listen to music and change volume etc, but I can’t, unfortunately, see any information in the tiny display between mileage and revolution counter. It is still black, it doesn’t matter if Music, radio, Bluetooth ....

Nevertheless, we changed the COM Bas, etc.. It is so far no tragedy but would be a nice to have.
I am surprised by the fact that a lot of Internet information / YouTube at all. Show how brilliant it works even with the information via the tiny mentioned display.

Did you install the Alpine by your self?
Maybe you have any idea?
Cheers

Hi Mat!

Thanks, healthy and well here in Norway.
Yes I did install the Alpine by my self, but it is a few year ago, so I don’t quit remember the details.
Display is working for normal car information and radio/music information. No navigation info from Alpine coming on display though. You say your display is black all the time? So no vehicle information either? (Than maybe the display is not connected at all?) I can try to find the original invoice to see which parts I used, but I guess a Alpine dealer can provide you with the information and the right canbus connector.

Hope this helps. I see if I can find old invoice.

Have a nice day.

Hey Hans,

the display is working normally so far, which means car information is available as usual, but as soon as I switch to music or to the screen which should provide media information, it is black. The Alpine dealer said it could be difficult because of innumerable options.

As I said, it is not really a tragedy because the Apline works fine, but would be nice to have.

Best regards to the north.

Hallo
