My wife and I have a code when we want to move pass each other in the van ... we say "one-two". Better than "get out of my way, I need to get by."
Cheers ... Harvey

Re: flashing battery symbol
Hi, Good luck on your trip. Unless I am mistaken, that panel you are showing only shows the state of the house batteries. Even with my 12 year old AGM batteries, my reading is usually around 13.7 volts when driving or parked in the sun with 200 watts solar. Unless you are ready for installing a DC t...

Re: Fresh water tank level indicator
I gave up on the original water tank level mechanism and replaced it with the very accurate Garnet See Level system (made in Canada). The sensors are glued to the outside of the tanks. I have one sensor for the grey water and one for the fresh water. Works perfectly. It was a bit of a job to get the...

I have installed a flexible self-sticking rain gutter around that window. You can warm it up to bend around the window. Available on Amazon and probably elsewhere. I used black on that window so it looks like it was built that way. I have used a white strip above the awning and above the rear doors ...

Re: Einbau Edelstahlduschwanne
Nice installation. I decided to repair mine and add support under it so it would never crack again. I used marine epoxy along the edges and steel tubes under the pan. The 2-part epoxy is VERY sticky and very strong. Use lots of masking tape and a spatula to apply. Then sand and paint the whole floor...

Re: turning water on. tricks?
The water has probably drained out of the lines, and the pump is having a hard time priming itself. I usually just open both taps and flush the toilet simultaneously. Be patient. It may take a couple of minutes. If patience doesn't work, open the large lid on top of the water tank, and give the pump...

Re: Kühlschrank question
You might want to look under coolbox in this forum. In that post, there is a link to a company in Germany that specializes in these fridges. Here is the link to that company - https://www.cool-and-more.de/ They appear to still be in business. It's easy enough to open the little door below the fridge...

Re: Electrical Upgrade - the "Cadillac" or the "Kia" solution
As someone who has driven across Canada, Victoria to Newfoundland and up the Dempster to the Arctic Circle in a 1998 James Cook with aging but decent gel batteries, I found that a great deal of the time is spent driving (it's a big country) and consequently charging batteries. I had 100 watts of sol...

Re: No output from the 12V battery charger.
No, it was imported from Germany, not by myself but another JC enthusiast. I bought it from him after it had all the safety inspections in Canada and licensed in BC. So easy for me. He installed the charger, and I have kept the AGM batteries. If I were to move to LI batteries I would buy a charger t...

Re: No output from the 12V battery charger.
Hi, I have had a 1998 James Cook for a few years now in Victoria, BC, Canada and so far have not had any problem with the 240v stock wiring. I still use the exterior Euro RV style plugin one end of my power cord to supply the 120 v power to the camper, with a 120v to 12v charger in the normal charge...
