Re: Overhead computer
Re Sleep Mode. Thanks for all the information. It is possible that it did go into sleep mode, but when I press the big button everything comes back as it was before - fridge on etc. etc. Once out of storage, I think the first thing I will do is replace the batteries as they are old anyway. Then I wi...

Re: Overhead computer
Hi again VTXBE,
Do you think the red wire problem is at the back of the display above the windshield or somewhere else down to the computer by the battery charger?
I am hoping to to have to run a completely new red wire!
Any help would be appreciated.
Ian (Canada)

Re: Overhead computer
Thanks for the reply and ideas. I will pop out the overhead computer and check the wires at the back.
It seems very strange that if the display is off, by pushing the big button it comes on again.
Cheers,
Ian

Overhead computer
Last summer we had strange problems with the computer. Sometimes after driving, the display was off. Press the big button and it came on OK and all the settings had been saved. It is no problem to press the button when it happens, but my concern is if it totally fails and will not come back on again...

Re: Cracks in black plastic window frames
The cracks on my JC were at the top hinges. A bad place of course! Mercedes Canada has an affiliated high-end body repair shop called Mitec. They repaired the frames by bonding new plastic above and below each crack. Attached are a couple of images. The bond they used is not available in stores and ...

Does anyone know where we can find one and / or does anyone have a 3D scan of the trash can?
Thank you,
Ian

Bug Screens for 2008 James Cook
Our JC is in Canada and we have searched everywhere for bug screens for the sliding door and back door, without any success. The sliding door shape and fit seems to be an issue. We are going to be travelling in Germany in April and would like to pick up a set of bug screens to take back to Canada. D...

Re: Panel removal under dining window
Hi Berry,
Can you please send me a few photos from behind the lower panel? I am particularly interested in how the water pipes are located and the pipe connections.
If easier, you can email them to me directly at: ianevans@sentex.net
Thank you,
Ian

Re: Panel removal under dining window
Hi Berry, Re top section. 1. Remove the strip where my red line is. A few screws. 2. Remove light fittings and electrical socket from top of upper panel. 3. Feel behind upper panel for where the green plastic clips are attached. From memory, 1 or 2 at bottom and same at top. 4. Rest of panel is atta...

Panel removal under dining window
I need to remove the panel below the dining window (see image). The whole panel below the red line with the 2 red arrows. I know how to remove the upper panel above red line but not the lower one.
Has anyone done this, and if so what is the best way to approach the job?
Thank you!

Central computer display goes off
Our central computer works fine with all functions. On a recent trip I noticed that after driving on a rough road, the display had gone off. I pressed the big button and it came back on with all the functions working as they had before. This has happened a couple of times now. Maybe there is a loose...
