there was a wild ice storm here in middle Ontario this weekend.
it started Friday evening . 20mm of ice on tree branches brought many (MANY) crashing to the ground.
no deaths or injuries to humans. but considerable property and vehicle damage.
Power has been out for 4 days now
I left the area in our passenger car a few hours before the storm hit
but I'd left our JC quietly parked in the driveway of this country property..
we just got a report from our neighbour.
Phew. our JC seens to have escaped almost unscathed. Lost the driver's side mirror but that should be a simple replacement.
so fortunate
I mean - look at the way that birch tree fell (photo). had it gone 1M left or right the JC would have been wrecked.
so lucky

Re: I now believe in miracles
Hallo Peter,

Hauptsache: Daimler.......man gönnt sich ja sonst nichts! JC 1986 "Wanderdüne" 260000km (T1) ;
Re: I now believe in miracles
thank you for the part number. that's very helpful
I just got another photo of the driveway.
it could even have been MUCh worse
after all the time and energy I have put into getting this JC (and all the time you all have spent helping me understand it better) i would have felt worse if it were damaged than if the house had been hit

Re: I now believe in miracles
what does "Sternwarte" mean?
it is translating to "Observatory" in English but I'll bet that is not accurate. (see attached)

Re: I now believe in miracles
Hi,
I think he means your local Mercedes-Benz Dealer. It's a little pun because of the Star in the Icon of the James Cook.

Funny
In English I would maybe have used "MotherShip" (Mutterschiff??)
but I get it.
