Hello JC Members,
I have a 2005 Westfalia James Cook here in the United States. It is NOT a NAFTA version so it should be like yours. I have a small rust problem around the right rear window. The window is original and has no cracks. I would like to remove the window, repair the rust, and place the window back in with a new seal. I have removed the fridge cabinet and the pull down shade framing. I have the shelved cabinet loose inside the closet but cannot remove it because the hanging rod is in the way. I do not have a service manual that explains how to remove the hanging rod. Can you help me? Here is a photo of the hanging rod that needs to be removed in order to remove the shelf.
I also need to replace the seal (assuming the old one will be damaged in the removal). I checked with the local MB dealer and gave them my vin # and they gave me part # 901-735-09-20 as a replacement seal and said it is available. Reviewing this forum, it appears that the correct seal part # is 901-674-07-20 and is very difficult to find. Can you tell me which of these (or other) is correct and where they are available?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
Cheers,

Re: Right Rear Window Seal Replacement
Hallo,
I have not done it myself but this is my advice:
- As a fact, the only way to reach the warm water boiler is to remove the mirror in the bath room. Screws can be reached on the wall inside the closet.
- Attention! While one person is loosening the screws you should avoid that the mirror falls down! You may use a second person / helping hand the first time before doing it alone.
- Mirror removed gives a view into the compartment with the boiler.
- I can imagine that you can reach the screws of the hanger now.
Just my two cents...
Best regards,
Wolf
