good morning from Kanada
where the miserable rainy weather that followed a miserable snowy cold winter finally seems to be receding.
I haven't dared to investigate how the various systems survived the winter.
I had to rush to get her into storage last December and so I have spent 5 nervous months wondering: "did I drain all water systems adequately? did anything freeze and burst?"
so far - fingers crossed, touch wood - I don't see any leaks and all the water systems seem to be working
Last fall having struggled for weeks I also paid a specialist to replace the sliding door sliders.
BUT they could not figure out how to replace the bottom one. they had never seen this style of floor and so didn't know how to access the lower section.
I know I have seen this out here somewhere, but before I start just pulling pieces out, can anyone direct me to instructions for how to access the lower slider?
Now having foolishly opened my mouth, I see a photo in my files showing exactly this procedure.
But I wonder where I got that photo? I would love to read a description of the steps.
anyone?
But I will leave the photo here for other peoples' reference.
Peter

May deepl help you!
Re: a New Spring (lower door slider replacement)
I am blocked again.
I got the right hand panel off easily.
But how do I get the Lefthand "box" out, without having to remove the entire floor section.?

Re: a New Spring (lower door slider replacement)
Hi Peter.
The box is glued to the lower section with a few spots of SikaFlex. You need to cut it with a thin knife or a steel wire.
Greetings

I'm trying.
but the lower edge is very tough. like steel.
maybe a bit of heat to the box frame would soften the glue.

Re: a New Spring (lower door slider replacement)
and there is is!!
a hot air gun applied to the metal box base I think shortened the glue enough that I could slice though it.
also levering the gap open a bit with a stiff screwdriver
bit finally it pulled out.
now I must say the point of my trying to do this was to replace the lower roller bracket On the sliding door (I had replaced the middle and upper last December)
but this lower roller bracket seems to get much less west that the other two. it doesn't sit in a track. it just rolls along the face of the lower step. so I think it gets much less west and probably never has to be replaced.
