just thinking that will probably bring horrible bad luck and misery..... but yesterday and disassembled (several times - as it is not obvious how it works) the high window blind assembly, and retensioned the roller.
and it now snaps back as good as new.
how satisfying.

But now I realize ("touch wood") that everything is basically working correctly. I'm amazed.

(I guess the very last frontier of JC maintenance could be removing and cleaning the upholstery, which after 20 years has some stains. but that seems excessive)

I guess the only solution is to drive it and go camping somewhere, before winter arrives..

Moin,

keineswegs!

How did you do that?
is the upholstery not stapled in place?
did you then have to remove all the staples, and then restaple it correctly?
I am not an expert upholstery person.

Moin,

I'm tempted.
My upholstery isn't in too bad condition (I.e. not badly stained).
BUT I stupidly spilled a bit of cooking oil on one section of the bench seat.
I've tried to use an upholstery cleaning machine to clean it, but the result is not perfect.
