1. Oil Fiter Wrench Cap
Cap fits on top of oil filter housing and then use a socket wrench to turn. The one below is an example but need one specifically for Sprinter and year.

There are also claws which fit more than one size but right fit cap is easy.

5. Travel Oil Change Kit
A vacuum pump is a bit too large for travel.
An alternative is an oil filter cap (small) and a quick drain valve with a tube. With the tube, it's easier to use any available container (and can use multiple small ones).
Without a tube, just buy a combination oil drain pan and container for one time use, recycle the used oil, and either leave container at recycled oil place (if they don't drain it) or give it away at a campground to save space.

Then can easily change oil on the road. In the USA, auto stores including Walmarts take the used oil. Some allow you to leave the used oil container while others empty into a barrel and return the containers.
6. Tips
A. Quality Oil Filters
Buy quality oil filters like original Mann. In the USA, cheap oil filters caused engine problems. Buy genuine Mercedes or German manifacturer suppliers to Mercedes.

The correct oil filters fit tightly.

B. Check O rings
Be sure to put the rubbery O rings on the oil filter housing in the right spot. The biggest one goes into the groove and NOT against the oil filter housing flange. If not in the groove, the O ring gets squeezed out under the flange and oil spews everywhere. If in the groove, the O ring is inside the oil metal fill neck.
C. Oil
In the USA, the right oil can be purchased in large gallon (4 quart) sizes. An American Westy owner who shipped his American version to Germany for a few years posted that engine oil was much more expensive in Europe. In the USA, can buy a gallon Mobil 1 0-40 for Dodge Sprinters for $23 to $25.
D. Check for Black Death
Also, an extra inspection tip. Can probably do less often.

For convenience, as you can do whenever you want.
For reassurance that oil was changed, filter was changed, and rubbery O rings added in proper places.
For reassurance that oil filter housing was not broken by mechanic (happened to me and didn't know spike was broken until did my own oil change.and had to buy new oil filter housing cap).
