after two years of bothering this community with dozens of questions about my JC, I thought I should share a note from the road about how happy I am to have my James Cook.
It has been a very rainy summer here in Central Ontario Canada.
there have been many overnight downpours of torrential proportions, that I can only imagine would have made tent-camping absolutely miserable.
I would Hate tent camping.
My partner is away for a few weeks and so I took the opportunity to take a solo road trip to northern Ontario - North Bay and Manitoulin Island (which I had never visited)
Yesterday the weather was lovely. but today it is raining and I am reminded of how great it is to travel in a James Cook
as I use everything, I have to smile as I note that all the features are working correctly, even after 20 years (though with a bit of maintenance along the way).
- the water system is back working (after a simple pump replacement)
- the cook top is working (and allows me to sit here with a nice cup of coffee while the rain pelts down on the roof)
- the shower and toilet work
- the fridge works,
- the hot water heater and shower work well (I had a very nice shower after a long bike ride)
- the upper bed is SOOOOOO cozy and comfortable. (and the blackout screens make it so nice and dark)
- the interior lights and new LiFoPo batteries work well
- and I finally have my sliding door back working (well, 99% correctly. the latch needs a small adjustment I think)
It's just all so well designed. I don't think we are used to such good design here in North America (at least I am not)
and, she's fun to drive. she makes me slow down and explore.
that's all for now. many thanks for all the support you have all offered.
Peter
