Replacement Fr. Swaybar connecting link...?
Verfasst: 02.11.2017 04:06
Situation: I discovered a month or so back that one of the front stabilizer/swaybar end links on my 2004 Sprinter Westfalia was broken. At the time I figured no big deal. Just order up the factory replacement part from Mercedes and situation resolved.
Unfortunately, I’m not finding it that easy. The stock stabilizer bar end links (see: http://europarts-sd.com/stabilizerbaren ... 2-2006.asp) do not match the stabilizer links on my Westy and so am trying to figure out how to get the right part. I don’t know whether the vehicle came with an alternative (heavier duty?) sway bar from Mercedes….it is my understanding the Westies did have a heavy duty suspension package, including different front transverse spring, heavy rear swaybar for most Westies, and ???? Or, perhaps the previous owner may have had one installed (there are not markings/part numbers to indicate).
See the attached pictures of the ‘good’ stabilizer link. You will see that the attachment ends are at a right angle to one another and the bushings are built into the link. Otherwise the only other clue I have is the serial number from one of the bushings which is… 02006004201216002
If anyone out there has any knowledge/experience/tips they can share, it would be appreciated.
Thanks to any and all for your help.
