Liebe James Cook Freunde...

Wir befinden uns grad auf grosser Fahrt und sind nun schon in Schweden (von Österreich aus) und plötzlich versagt die Kühlbox.
Wir haben einen 1996 Sprinter.
Er brummt und knistert leise ... wie immer
Am Display alles einstellbar ... wie immer
Wir haben zwar Solar aber hängen seit 2 Tagen am Stromnetz und trotzdem nichts.
Sicherung schaut gut aus.
Hab das Selbstdiagnoseprogramm laufen lassen und besagte 4,5 - 5 A werden da nicht angezeigt, obwohl er die 5 Sekunden anspringt und brummt .... aber muss auch zugeben, durchschaue das Programm nicht ganz was da passiert.
Irgendwie bin ich grad ratlos und möcht die nächsten 6 Wochen nicht ohne herumfahren. Gerade für die kleinen Kinder wär da was Gekühltes schon sehr praktisch

Wäre sehr dankbar wenn mir da wer weiterhelfen könnte.
Eventuell bin ich einfach zu doof oder es is was Gröberes. Aber es zu wissen wär schon toll!

1. Portable Chest Fridge

Until you get a fix, you can buy and use a small portable fridge. Some James Cook owner never fixed their built-in fridge and used a portable one until they sold their James Cook. Also, an extra fridge can be used as a freezer.
The smallest usable one is probably the besr bet for saving energy and space.

2. Loss of Refrigerant

If the Danfoss Secop compressor is running all the time (not turning on and off) AND the metal.evaporator plate in the fridge is NOT cold anywhere, then it's likely a leak with missing refrigerant. If the metal evaporator plate is cold on part of it, then the refrigerant may be low..Westfalia used a Danfoss Secop compressor without valves to add refrigerant. After tne leak is sealed, new valves can be brazed on to evacuate air from the system and add refrigerant.
As space is tight, the cabinet and fridge will probably need to be removed.
There are pre-charged filled replacement systems available but do NOT know of any which have the same metal.evaporator plate in the fridge. Also, the cooling fan and condenser are not located in the same position. The Cool and More folks do.have the original metal evaporatoe plate on their website.

Also, check that the cooling fan for the condenser under the fridge is also running
