Help with tidying up wiring

Beitrag von Adrianlle » 25.05.2022 16:55

Greetings from the U.K. I recently installed 2 x 100ah lithium batteries and a Votronic 50A booster. With 200w solar it is a good combination. However I discovered that the wiring in the battery compartment is like spaghetti. photos below. So I want to make it neater . Can you help please with the following ?

1. Should all the small negative wires that appear to come from accessories be taken off the battery terminals and put instead on the shunt above the charger?

2. On the shunt at present are 2 wires on the right hand side. Is that right- shouldn’t they be on the left hand side of the shunt with all the other earth wires. Shouldn’t the right side just connect to the body for earth?

3. Should all the small individually fused positive wires to the battery terminals ( once I’ve figured out what what each wire supplies) be moved to a seperate new Fusebox? If so where is there space to put it. At the moment all those small positive wires are not switched off when the big red switch is turned under the sink. So the new Fusebox has to be supplied by a cable not from the battery but after the big red switch. How to get at it?

4. Finally the negative from the solar looks as if it is not connected to a battery terminal but is one of the wires connected to the right hand side of the shunt. Is that right?

Sorry for the long rambling message in
English but all help appreciated so that I can get some order into the battery area. Thanks
