Bathroom tap- yellow furniture

Greetings from U.K. We are 3 days into a 2 week tour of Scotland and the bathroom tap has started to leak. The floor is slightly wet. My diagnosis is that the internal parts of the tap are leaking. There is some water around the base of the tap itself and I suspect the major part of the leaking water is dropping down the enclosed tunnel at the rear of the cabinet where the flexible hose. I hope it’s not going to get worse during the remainder of the trip. So 3 questions please?

1. Does my diagnosis sound right and if so is there anything I can do short term for the trip? There doesn’t seem to be anyway of turning off the water just to the bathroom.
2. What model is the tap - I suspect it is a Reich in case I can have one delivered to somewhere route?
3. How do you replace it? I assume the mirror has to come out? How does the sink come away from the wall - is it slicing through the silicone surrounding and somehow unscrewing it inside the wardrobe ?

Any help appreciated as it would be a shame to have to abort the trip after the very long drive up here!

To your questions:

>> To my understanding the integrated "sink / basecabinet unit" needs to be dismounted. I have never done it myself. Yes, unscrew via the cabinet. But I do not know if additional screws from the rear panel (opening both backdoors) are also fixing the sink.

(Attention: screws in the cabinet are holding the mirror which is heavy. This does not need to come off for your problem. BUT: If you ever do this a second person must hold the mirror while another one would be loosening the screws.)

das gleiche Problem hatte ich auch. Bei mir war die Kartusche im Wasserhahn defekt.

Wenn es der originale Wasserhahn von Comet ist brauchst Du diese Kartusche: Comet Ersatzteil-Nr. C3.4015.00 - für Roma / Parma / Ducale
Den Schrank brauchst Du dabei nicht abbauen.

Im Anhang ist noch die Anleitung zum Wechsel der Kartusche.

Hallo zusammen,
wir haben gerade dasselbe Problem. Das Wasser läuft aber nicht äußerlich an der Mischbatterie herunter, sondern entlang der beiden Zulaufschläuche bis zur Durchführung in den Kleiderschrank und sammelt sich dann in der Duschtasse. Kann auch das eine defekte Kartusche sein?
Ich war schon drauf und dran, einen komplett neuen Mischer zu kaufen, mußte jedoch feststellen, daß es dieses Modell wohl nicht mehr gibt. Modell:
Comet Roma mit ausziehbarem Brauseschlauch. Den normalen Wasserhahn gibt es wohl noch, da dürfte die Kartusche dann wohl identisch sein, oder?

Moin Zusammen,

Es muss auch nicht unbedingt die Mischbatterie sein (so wie sich das für mich liest).
Die Wasserschläuche altern, ziehen sich zusammen, bzw. werden hart und werden dann gern an den Anschlußstellen undicht. Bei mir war das so direkt am Boiler oben im Bad. Von da lief es dann langsam in den Schrank. Habe daraufhin mit einem ziemlichen Aufwand den Boiler ausgebaut und einer ausgiebigen Wartung und Reinigung unterzogen. Dabei stellte sich heraus, dass er 100% dicht und nur der Schlauch/ die kleine Schelle schuld war.
Nachziehen der Schellen, oder etwas Umpositionieren der Schellen kann also evtl. schon helfen.

Um das zu prüfen und evtl abzustellen müsstest du aber leider den Unterschrank abbauen und den Hahn abschrauben.
Die Schläuche waren bei unserem Modell mit Kunststoff Leitungen von unten in den Hahn gesteckt und mit einem Stahlstift quer gesichert.

Thank you for all the replies. So it sounds as if the problem is either going to be the cartridge or the connecting pipes. At the moment the water leak is manageable and hope it will see me through the trip. Then I would propose first to change the cartridge as it appears that can be done without removing the sink. If that is not successful then I’ll remove the sink and fit a new tap. I don’t know whether the tap is a Comet or a Rech Karma though. Here is a photo Thanks.

Thomas, do you know what diameter the base of the Reich Karma shower tap is- as there seem to be several sizes? Is it 33mm? I ask because we are still on our Scottish trip butI would like to order a replacement tap to await our return as we have a short turn round time before our next trip! Thanks. Adrian

Hi Adrian,
wir haben unseren Reich Kama bereits 2013 bei Reimo gekauft.
Wenn ich die damalige Artikelnummer (63054) dort eingebe, erhalte ich 2 verschiedene Wasserhähne, die gleich aussehen, aber verschiedene Montagedurchmesser haben.
1 x 33 mm
1 x 36 mm

Sorry, dass ich Dir keine bessere Antwirt geben kann.

Ich habe vor einiger Zeit die KAMA mit Duettbrause eingebaut. Montagedurchmesser 36mm. Das hat NICHT gepasst und ich habe den Kunststoff aufgebohrt…

Thanks. My searches also threw up 33mm or 36mm diameter. If 36mm required drilling out of the sink ,then sounds like 33mm. I will order one of those. Unfortunately the tails seem to be 12mm push fit rather than 10mm barbed. So I may have to get some converters too. Scottish trip has unbelievable scenery in North Coast 500 and not too busy either -though mostly German campervans! Adrian

Adrian, wart Ihr auch schon beim last house of Scotland - John o Groats?
Sehr zu empfehlen, allerdings waren wir da schon vor 30 Jahren, hoffe es ist noch genau so schön dort.
