I have found (with again, the help of this group) the correct replacement battery charger that will handle 115v input.
but Fraron will not ship. to Canada.
would a Forum member in Germany be will to accept delivery and the forward the parcel in toe in Canada? (I think I can even organize the DHL shipping myself, remotely)
if someone can help maybe send me a private message with your address details.
many thanks
peter

thank you all.
(thank you Thomas)
this Ask is.... on hold.
an electrician friend has asked that I not buy this replacement battery charger until he can look for local alternatives.
he seems to think that battery charger technology has advanced a long way and that maybe simply buying a replacement from Fraron might not be best (I disagree. but I respect his even looking at my situation)
allow me a week.

Hello,
There is probably a simpel solution.
Something like this building in the connection between outside plug and charger.

yes, I am coming back to the idea of keeping the original 230v battery charger and using a Step Up transformer .
my electrician friend fears that if I use a replacement Fraron 115v battery charger the wiring to the domestic outlets may not be heavy enough gauge to support the double amperage load.
tricky problem...
