Hi fellow James Cook enthousiast.
I just wanted to share that I have been using our Norwegian 2007 James Cook in promotion video for Michelin Cross Climate Camping tires. I hope it is OK to share it here as the result turned out so fine What do you think?

eine sehr schöne Werbung - nicht nur für den Michelin Cross Climate, mindestens genauso schön kommen Norwegen und der Cook zur Geltung! Und so wohltuend entspannt im Vergleich zu üblichen Hektik-Clips.
Im Forum werden ja die Conti Vanco 4 Season gelobt. Ich fahre die auch schon lange und bin sehr zufrieden. Vor allem auch mit der Laufleistung! Kannst du etwas zum Vergleich sagen? Laufleistung, Profiltiefe, Grip, Preis wären vielleicht interessant.
Off-Topic: mit welcher Drohne hast du den Dreh gemacht?

Our Cook has also been to the Atlantic Road some years ago. Actually it was on the 22. Juli 2011 - a day not to be forgotten...

When did you buy the Cook? When we were looking for one in 2009, there was one like yours sold to Norway before we could look at it at some MB dealer.

Laufleistung, dazu kann ich noch nichts sagen. Der Reifen wurde 2022 eingeführt, also noch zu früh für Laufleistungsergebnisse, aber ähnliche Profile bei Pkw- und Van-Reifen schneiden sehr gut ab.
Die anfängliche Profiltiefe kenne ich nicht genau, aber das ist auch nicht sehr interessant für das Kilometer-Endergebnis. Die Verschleißrate hängt von vielen Faktoren ab. Ich bin nach diesem ersten Winter vom Grip sehr beeindruckt, besonders auf sehr glatten Straßen. Habe bis jetzt spezielle nordische Winterreifen verwendet und bin überrascht über den Grip mit diesen Reifen. Aber es sind natürlich keine extremen Eis-/Winterreifen!
Die Verwendung spezieller Campingreifen auf dem James Cook hat meiner Meinung nach große Vorteile für diejenigen, die das Auto nicht das ganze Jahr über nutzen. Unter anderem sind die Reifen viel widerstandsfähiger gegen langes Parken. Und natürlich widerstandsfähig, immer mit maximaler Zuladung (Gewicht) zu fahren.
Der Preis dieser Reifen variiert sicherlich von Land zu Land, kann aber leicht online gefunden werden. Ich glaube nicht, dass es zu den erwähnten Conti-Reifen einen großen Unterschied geben wird.

Cooles Video - Dein 2007er sieht echt noch sehr frisch aus im Vergleich zu meinem. Der Preis der Reifen ist mit knapp 250€ schon eine Ansage, aber wenn die Qualität stimmt...

does anybody know the max pressure for the MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE CAMPING (not Agilis CrossClimate with C-metric)?
As indicated on the sidewall of the tyre itself?
That would be great.

Why do you want to know this max. pressure on the sidewall?
The tire pressure is allways connected to the weight the tire has to carry.
That is why you have very differend tire pressures on front and back on JC, although you have the same tires.
The max. tire pressure on the sidewall is max.pressure just for safety (tire design) reasons and does not tell you the pressure you need on your vehicle.

If you really need to know this I can check side wall pressure in the coming days…

good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well.
To my topic: have been riding an Agilis CrossClimate with a C-metric (C=commercial, for "light trucks)", not CP=not Camping) and the max pressure of that tire is 4,5 bar - as you say rightly: by design. As my JC (model year 2005) requires 4,5 bar at the rear axle (according to Mercedes, as I remember) I do not feel comfortable with the pressure tolerance/reserve of that tyre.
Just to let you know: Do I know the weight of my JC and did I measure the weight for front and rear axle? YES. Can I calculate my load per tyre and convert that to my individual target pressures? YES.
Evaluating new tyres I find it more and more difficult to identify the max tyre pressure of brands like Continental, Michelin, etc. Not easy to find on the internet. I remember a time when a tyre had a clear technical specification and pressure tables were available. I remember riding Continental tyres with a max possible pressure of 5 or 5,5 bar - in that case enough as a pressure reserve, enough "room to breathe"... again: by design.
I just thought it would be easy for you to confirm that the max pressure of the Michelin CrossClimate Camping is 4,75 bar (by design). Is that correct? No rush in answering, but much appreciated. That would help in the buying decision.
