On my spec sheet from Mercedes, the tyre size is noted as 225 75 R16. I have seen a number of other James Cook (generation 3) spec sheets and they all show tyre size as 235 65 R16. The standard rims I have are the same as all other spec sheets and are noted as 6.5 J 16 Light Alloy Wheels.
This seems a little strange. Does anyone else have a spec sheet showing 225 75 R16 and are running that size, or is everyone running 235 65 R16?
This is complicated as when I bought the JC, the previous owner had installed 17 inch rims and I am just about to replace the rims and tyres back to "Mercedes standard".
I am in Canada and it seems here that the Mercedes "standard" recommendation is to buy Michelin Agilis all season tyres with a load rating of at least 115. Does anyone have any input or experience with this and have tyres they would especially recommend. Continental?
Thanks for your insights and assistance. Ian
Tyres size and choice
Re: Tyres size and choice
Default size is 235... The slightly bigger size (225) is also allowed and listed in the COC Papers. I currently have the 235 but will switch to 225 soon for optical reasons and the bigger rolling circumference. Michelin has great reviews, 115 Index is also enough.
Re: Tyres size and choice

Re: Tyres size and choice
Thank you both for your input! I am thinking the same Rainerd. If my spec sheet says 225 75 R16 then that is what I will install.
Does anyone have any other ideas re manufacturer than Michelin? I am looking for smooth ride and do not need winter driving, so no snowflake on the tyre needed.
