[SOLVED] Stationary heater replacement (living area)

Beitrag von JoseAlarcon » 18.04.2025 08:31

Hello!

My next issue is with the heater. It hasn't been working correctly lately. First it failed to start (error 052 and lots of white smoke). I took it to a Eberspächer specialist. They removed it from the van, changed some filters and gaskets and all was fine in their test bench.
When they installed it again in the van, it was working fine until the temperature reaches the set temperature in the heater. Then it stops (possible error code in the "hidden" menu 107).

The specialist didn't find any error stored with their tester. They said when they run the heater connected to the tester and reproduced the issue, the connection to the tester dropped, so they didn't see what was the error code.

They suspect it is a faulty ECU, but they can't order a replacement part as it is a MB OEM heater.

Does anyone know if there is a compatible off the shelve ECU that works with this heater? At least the MB dealer in Finland (Veho) told me the parts are out of stock.

The model is Hydronic D4WSC. Some other numbers are 25 2392 and 140876AE (4.0 KW).

Only the MB Version works (was about 1.000€ just for the controller). The control unit can be repaired. It probably has bad "cold" solder joints; that's what happened to me, too. I had it re-soldered, and it's been working perfectly since then. I think i have some Pictures for Demonstration.

Hello!

I found this document in a previous post: https://forum.james-cook-freunde.de/dow ... hp?id=7451

The error code 107 means low coolant liquid in the heating system. I removed the cover in the toilet and there was liquid in the expansion tank. It wasn't totally empty. I refilled the transparent part of the expansion tank fully and the error code cleared itself.

I have run now the heater in different settings for about 4 hours and everything seems to be working fine!
