hello to all,
I would like to know if the original charger westfalia, is a good caraica batteries, or if it is an obsolete model than those that are on the market.
Is there anyone who has replaced him? you have got benefits?

So, you tell me that you do not need to replace the battery if I want to install an inverter? I received this suggestion because the Italian distributor for westfalia, argues that to install an inverter, it is better to have AGM batteries. The battery charger original, however, does not support the AGM. What do you think?

Ergänzend ein Auszug aus dem Exide-Handbuch:

Externes Laden:
Ladung mit einem ungeeigneten Ladegerät, das zum Beispiel nach Erreichen der Ladespannung von 14,1-14,4 V abschaltet, führt zur starken Sulfatation der Batterieplatten und somit zum "Verhungern" der Batterie.

Die richtige Ladetechnik:
Kennlinie IU oder IUoUi, das heißt "I" Phase mit mindestens 1/10 der Batteriekapazität als Ladestrom (zum Beispiel 8 A bei G80) [=17A bei 2x G85]. Nach Erreichen der Ladespannung von 14,1-14,4 V erfolgt die Umschaltung auf die "U" Phase (Hauptladephase) von 14,1-14,4 V. Die gesamte Ladezeit muss mindestens 12 Stunden betragen, auch wenn die Batterie nur wenig entladen worden ist. Danach kann das Ladegerät abgeschaltet werden (=IU-Kennlinie) oder auf Erhaltungsladen umschalten (IUoUi).

Und weiter...

Selbstentladung (unabhängig von elektrischen Dauerverbrauchern):
Der Leistungsverlust der EXIDE GEL durch Selbstentladung ist extrem niedrig: Bei 20-25 C verliert sie 0,1 % der Batteriekapazität/Tag. Mit steigenden Temperaturen nimmt die Selbstentladung jedoch deutlich zu: Bei 35 C beträgt sie 0,7% / Tag, das heißt 7x höher!

Sommereinsatz:
Im Sommer kann die temperaturbedingt höhere Selbstentladung in Kombination mit Dauerverbrauchern ohne Nachladung über das Bordladegerät besonders rasch zu einer Tiefentladung der Batterie führen.

Wir empfehlen daher:
Nachladung 1x pro Monat

Mauro, es kann also möglich sein, dass dein Kühlschrank bei der Wärme sehr viel Strom verbraucht und dass die Selbstentladung der Batterien sehr groß ist. Dadurch bist du weniger autark und das ohnehin sehr kleine Ladegerät wesentlich länger braucht um eine Wiedervollaufladung zu erreichen.

I also thought I had on board two batteries Exide, unfortunately, I've seen that they have been replaced with two batteries unknown (Duratech). This is in fact another surprise that gave me the German seller. After a few tests performed by Bonometti, the response is clear: the batteries are thrown away! Keep in mind that my JC is the 2011! We also found inside the battery compartment, numerous pieces of black glass, which clearly indicate an accident that occurred in the past.
Now I will present a formal complaint to the seller and Westphalia who uses unprofessional sellers.

An accident car, oh no that is not true.
Mauro you should meassure the car painting of your car to find out in which areas the accident happend. This will be an indication of the damage size. Or what I hope (but don't think) it was just a broken window...
