The charger has burnt due to poor ventilation of the seat.
I did not want to adapt other non-original chargers and i therefore thought of drilling holes in the plastic cover, protecting it with a net.

Which charger are you using? I would not think that heat would be a big problem in the location.

Das serienmäßige 10A Ladegerät wird nach meiner eigenen Erfahrung schon etwas warm, v.a. wenn es bei sehr heißen Temperaturen gefordert wird. Als Ausfall hatten wir aber nur einmal einen verkohlten Stecker, den mir Westfalia seinerzeit noch gratis per Ersatzteilzusendung ersetzt hat.
Im kühleren Klima ist die Wärmeabführ durch das Karosserieblech stets gewährleistet.

Aha. The 10A Westfalia Philips charger is quite terrible. I have replaced with Victron 30A and it is far superior. The Westfalia would struggle to charge the battery with the fridge, heating and lights on. It see around 15A if everything is running at the same time, so the battery gradually discharged. The radio runs from the starter battery so that also needs to be charged.

Is this ok for Lithium battery?
