2 parts I am thinking of taking as spares back to Canada. Does anyone know where to buy them and how much they cost in Europe?

1. new overhead control panel

2. Water pump

Anything else I should take back? I have a spare roof glass, which is good.

Thank you,

Ian

No. 2 is easy and you might want to take 2:

Thank you! I have found the water pump on Amazon.

Is this the same as the original in a 2007 James Cook? Do they tend to fail often?

I think it is the same as in the previous Cook series. They usually last several years, but tend to fail without any previous notice. I think I changed it twice since 2009.

It is advisable to carry one spare to be able to change it anytime/anywhere. It is.inexpensive, small and otherwise it would be camping w/o running water for some days, depending on where.you are.

So does anyone have any idea where I could buy a spare control panel to take back to Canada with me?

It sure would be good to have a spare.

Thank you.

I guess Mercedes is the only source for a panel.

Didn't our @admin Peter get a replacement a few years ago?
I would ask here
https://www.ermel-freizeitmobile.de/
in case of any major problems with Westfalia parts.

the control panel looks the same on some recent Mercedes Marco Polo and VW California.

I don't know if the control unit is the same; it could be yes with different parameters ( mains differences are the possibilities of gaz level sensor, open roof, airtronic or hydronic , bathroom temperatur sensor or no ).

The control unit is located near the charger.

note ; without control pannel , you can NOT test heater, fridge, (charger). water level sensors .

In the past I have contacted Westfalia and they have tried to help. There is a guy there who seems to be English (Gareth) gareth.white@westfalia-mobil.de

Not sure if he is still there but worth a go.
