Can anyone let me know what this part in the utility centre is for? Image attached. It looks like a water inlet to attach to the mains at a campsite.

Could be a water filter. But normally at that position is the electricity plug.

there you can connect a pressurised water supply.
once the cover is open, the pump is disconnected. ( it could be one reason if the pump does n't work ).
There is a pressure regulator in line to reduce the pressure.
I'm certain we are two people in the forum they have leakage at the internal side of the coupler as result a lot of water in the van...
as observed by Rainerd where is your electrical plug located ? On my JC it is just beside the water connector. We don't see your ??

Thanks, a mains water connect makes sense.
The photo does not show it, but the mains electric plug in is just above the=is mains water connect.

nachdem die Frage anscheinend geklärt ist, noch eine (nicht ernst gemeinte) Antwort.
Vielleicht ist das ja der Stromanschluss. Man braucht nur einen speziellen Adapter
