How far was the James Cook ever driven from home ?
Hi every one,
As the James cook is a van made for traveling, I was wondering how far it was ever driven from home for a holiday/journey.
Maybe to the Nord Cap? Or the south of Marocco? Or even to the piramids of Egypt? Who knows ...
All stories are welcome!

Re: How far was the James Cook ever driven from home ?
Hi Willem,
last year we shipped our JC (316CDI) to Halifax (CDN). We drove all across Canada with a short sidesteps to Newfoundland, North- and South- Dekota, to Vancouver and then North to the Yukon and further to Alaska. On our way back east we passed trough the Rockies (Jasper - Banff), crossed the praeries and shipped the JC back from Halifax to Hamburg. The trip took us 4,5 months.(30000km).
Next year we are planning another trip to Canada.

I did drive to Ulan Batar / Mongolia last summer, although not in a Sprinter / James Cook, but in my Vito van. In total 18.000+ km for the round trip.Fanny hat geschrieben:Anyone been to MONGOLIA?

Hello
Sorry for the delayed reply.
We are finalizing details - the Russian Visa is a bit problematic. Anyone heading in this direction soon? Maybe we will cross paths. We expect to head out around the end of May 2015.
OutdoorSprinter - how did you get your Russian visas, any hassles? Do you have a blog so I can follow your trip?

Re: How far was the James Cook ever driven from home ?
We didnt experience any problems in obtaining the visa for Belarus (transit), Russia (90 days business multi entry) and Mongolia (not necessary any more for German citizens since Sept 2013, just when we left for the way back home). The visum for Russia was ordered through a visa agency in Berlin, seemed the best way to get the required official invitation. The planned route needs to be included in the visum application, we named the major cities along the transcontinental highway, but later no one actually asked about that.
Just that you know how much we liked it: We are planning the next trip starting in summer 2016...
