Silver paint colour on wooden kitchen furniture
Silver paint colour on wooden kitchen furniture
Greetings from the UK. I am in the process of modifying the headrest on the bench seat of my 2004 Cook to access the storage space behind- not entirely straight forward and I will post commentary and pictures when done.
While doing this I have noticed that some of the silver paint on the wooden trims to the kitchen furniture has come away. Can anyone tell me what a good colour match is for the Westfalia silver in the kitchen so that I can touch up the few places of bare wood? Adrian

Greetings
Can nobody help me identify a colour match for the silver grey paint in the kitchen area of my 2004 Cook? Adrian

Re: Silver paint colour on wooden kitchen furniture
Hi Adrian, this is a Westfalia specific paint and not Mercedes specific. I‘m afraid there is no paint code available for this wooden part.
If anyone has another idea - I‘m interested too...
Best regards, Carsten

On the NAFTA (USA) version, someone recommended "a jar of 2 oz. Rustoleum American Accents Silver Metallic # 209636 paint."

May not be the same in UK. Also, older paint may age and change color versus the exact same brand new paint.
Also, if you've removed the headrest, you can take whole thing into a paint store and they can color-match (some do with a computer).
There are also phone apps which help you color match to a photo.

Please post whatever you find. Thanks.

Thanks for the input. The Rustoleum American Accents paint used to be available , apparently, on Amazon UK but is no longer available. I can’t locate any elsewhere. So I will take the headrest off again and take it to a paint shop to see if they can match it. I will post when I have everything sorted. Adrian

Re: Silver paint colour on wooden kitchen furniture
Hi,
I had the same problem with the cracked grey paint in my 2006 JC when I bought it. I was searching a few weeks before I found a colour that nearly matched - it's a little bit lighter than the original one.
For a good result, I sanded the whole original paint down to the wood, degreased it and let my wife (she's away better painter than me ) paint it with the grey colour, then with clear varnish.
On the following pictures, you can see the result and the colour buckets with the codes. I bought them at "Bauhaus".
In the picture with the hanging kitchen closet, you can see the very slight difference between the original colour on the wooden piece under the bed and the new colour on the closet.

Re: Silver paint colour on wooden kitchen furniture
Thanks for all the contributions. I only have small patches to touch up. I bought a small tin of Rustoleum Metallic silver and it is a good match - not perfect but pretty good. Cost me a few pounds. Adrian
